417 Minecraft is a factions server. This means the main goal of the server is to become the most powerful faction. This is done through claiming land and raiding your enemies lands. If you're looking for a more peaceful life, don't worry, factions is actually a great tool for living like sweden. Further on this page, you can find more information on how factions work. Here, we will list off some of the features that the server has to offer, and a general explanation of how they work.
This server has various server-side plugins and mods to make the experience great for players. Let's go over a few here, but you can find a full list of plugins and mods at the bottom of the page.
PvP & PVE
The server focuses on both PvP and PvE elements.
For PvP, you will surely indulge yourself in raiding those lesserlings who dared to step foot on your ancestral land. Perhaps the blood glutton who's reading this likes the simpler things in life, such as claiming the heads of their foes and mounting them on wooden fences outside their base. The ultimate goal is to become the strongest faction. But beware, the path to power is a bloody one, and heavy lies the head that wears the crown.
And for PvE, there are many elements to keep it interesting. The server is on hard difficulty. This means mobs are more difficult, but the main impact here is that you can die of hunger; I suggest you keep your meats on you. And there's always the chance you will run into a legendary mob. btw there's... tornadoes? Either way, living a peaceful life as a farming guild or builders coalition isn't so bad.
The server will be up 24/7.
It restarts every day around 4:00 AM.
Shouldn't you be in bed?
The server uses the latest and greatest in Minecraft hosting. The API is Paper. Like, that's the name. Paper is optimized for servers exactly like this one, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
The actual hardware the server uses is more than sufficient for a vanilla server. The server:
Overall, Minecraft stability is still very hit or miss. There will still be random lag spikes. Everything in my power to prevent lag has been done, but when it happens, I'm sorry.
Perhaps the most important part of any server are the players that use it. Without them, the server is nothing, and without each other, the game is just single player so why would you play on a server at all?
I'm proud to say that I know most of the people who will be playing on the server, and despite the clout that will inevitably be thrown, I look forward to the stories that we'll all take part in on this server.
The cool thing here is that we're all working in the same world. It doesn't matter if we're playing for different reasons. We are all working together to make the lore of this world, so let's make it fucking interesting. Make your factions, talk trash, sell stuff, form alliances, build awesome stuff, explore awesome areas, break alliances, go to war, get betrayed from the inside. It's the circle of life, and it's absolutely beautiful.
The server features an economy system. The most simple form of earning money is to sell raw materials you collect. Using the money you earn, you can buy items from spawn, place bounties on other players, set up a shop of your own, and more. No more trading 10 chickens for 1 cow.

This area will help you learn about the more important plugins, and how to effectively use them.
The first step of using factions is creating the faction. You can can create one using the command below, and then use the others to invite players to join your faction.
/f create <name>
/f invite <player>
/f join <player/faction>
Make it something cool. And also, capitalize it. Lowercase faction names look extremely stupid.
Now that you've created it, the faction name will appear when you type in chat, and you can do a plethora of new things such as setting a faction home and claiming land. So let's go over claiming land. The command is:
This command claims the current chunk that you're standing in, from the top to the bottom of the world. So find a good place to settle down and claim that land!
When you claim land, only those in your own faction can build, break, and open chest and doors. The more power your faction has, the more land you can claim. We need to talk about the power system. Claiming land doesn't make you invincible.
Every faction and player has an associated power number. Every player contributes 10 maximum power to their faction. The more power; the more land you can claim. Every time you die, your power goes down by a small amount. It will regenerate over time. If a faction has a much higher power level than another, then the stronger faction will be able to claim over the weaker factions land. This is called raiding.
Faction A has 2 members. That means that Faction A has a maximum of 20 power. Sadly, the little brother in the faction sucks and keeps dying. Now the faction only has 10 out of 20 max power. Next, Faction B with 5 members who don't die come along. Faction B has 48/50 power. This means Faction B can claim over Faction A's land.
I would also suggest you use the following command:
This will allow all your faction members to use /f home to return to the main faction home. This is a powerful tool, because it allows all your faction members to place their homes somewhere more strategic.
That's the gist of the system. If you would like to see more info, I'll direct you to here. Be sure to use the /f help command to see every command it has to offer! Here's the remaining commands:
/f setrole <player>
/f leader <player>
/f invite <player> [revoke]
/f join <player/faction>
/f kick <player>
/f info [faction/player]
/f claim [radius]
/f unclaim [all]
/f map [on/off]
/f chat [public/ally/faction]
CHEST SHOP TUTORIAL
MAKING A PLAYER SHOP
A person can buy 64 diamonds for 10 dollars and sell them back for 5 dollars from player Phoenix616.
I'd like to think that this is a pretty grassroots community, and we don't really need any strict rules. However, please keep these in mind:
That's about it.
Just kidding, I'd also like to have a quick word about raiding people. It's completely allowed. However, try not to be a total dick head. If you're raiding people, it would be polite to only take things that are actually resources. By that, I mean try to not just raid people to destroy their creations. Raid for resources or influence, not just to grief them. In reality, do whatever you want. It's just a suggestion for an honor system. Same goes with offline raids.
